      yeah, I would say so. I was walking through the grocery store parking lot and saw that and had to take a picture. It is from a Ford Focus station wagon, cant be at the most 4 years old. Just could not believe it.

        I've seen really late model cars with CC failure too. It would seem to me that you you would almost need to go out of your way to neglect the finish on a late model vehicle to have the CC fail

          Yes, my old 1993 Nissan 240sx project car had that on entirely the whole car! It was horrible.

                Yes and no. Clear coat failure begins where the clear and color coats meet. There are cases when that bond is compromised in some way, shape or form during the application process and then it's destined for failure no matter what you do. This is quite rare, but it can happen.
