  • Just undecided..

Next week I am going to be doing some detailing on my truck, time for a new coat of wax. Spring break!!!!!
I normally work on my client's vehicles with no problems but I am not sure what to use on my baby , just undecided.

I have all the new products on my arsenal: ultimate compund, scratchx, swirl x, and even M205 which came included with my G110 kit from ADS.

My truck does not need some serious polishing. I has some really light swirl marks/scratches on a few parts, normal on any daily driver. I don't want to polish more than I have too. She is well taken care of , she is a year old, 15k miles. Paint defects are minimal but I want to achieve the best finish possible .

    So what to use?

    m205? swirlx?
    suggestions
For wax of course I am going to be using NXT 2.0.

    thx

I would go for the M205. If you haven't used this polish yet, you will know why I am suggesting it as soon as you do. It's the easiest polish I have ever used.

I used M205 and a yellow 2.0 pad to 1-step polish my entire car to 99% perfection. Only a few particularly deep scratches required M105.

I did half the car with a G110, and half with a rotary. Both worked the same as far as I could see in terms of end results, although I think the rotary may have been a tad quicker.

that does sound good. That's what I was thinking as well. M205 will probably be what I need. I always use it after applying any other compound but I was not sure about using it as one step.

          I would go with:

          M205 or Swirl X

From personal experience, Swirl X is an amazing product, i think M205 would work great but if you need a more aggressive product then Swirl X would be good. I wouldnt use Ultimate Compound unless its a spot fix. from what you describe your truck has minor swirls so use M205 and if that dosent cut it then try Swirl X

Use a test spot. Mark off a small area (1 foot by 1 foot, or slightly larger) and test the product. If you get the desired results there, repeat on the entire vehicle. If you don't, you know you need to try something else before you waste the time doing the whole truck.

If it is in good shape. I would do a test spot with the 205. Then need be, you can adjust your plan.
