  • Boat Detailing

This weekend I will be detailing my neighbor's toys:

    Chevy Avalanche
    Chevy Corvette (04)
    BMW 525i

and he has this red boat. Is it safe to just use the G110 and 83/80. Or do i have to get special boat products?

Mike I'm sure you can help me out since you have owned a boat.

Yes, you can use the automotive product on boats.

Here's one I did during the summer using the Professional Line:

The paints used on boats are usually much thicker than automotive paints. So, the Marine products are more aggressive than the automotive section.

If you can get some M105, I suggest you use it. The gel coats can be pretty tough.

        What kind of boat?

Some boats are straight resin, usually polyester resin with a pigment added to give the resin color with white being the most common color.

Some high end boats are painted.

        Can you post a picture?
Is it in good shape or bad shape?

          Re: Boat Detailing

I don't have any pics right now, but it seems to have some form of clear coat on it. It's in perfect condition because he often waxes it before/after his trips.

It's not by any means a high end boat, but it's not junk.

It's just like a cruising around on but, it's not a speed boat or fishing boat.

            Re: Boat Detailing

I was able to achieve some very nice results with M49 and the PC last spring on this boat. Sorry, only had my phone with for pics....you can see how well it removed oxidation.

Thanks for the link Rasky. It's kind of like that boat, I will try what I have and take some pics down the road. It is a nice Bright Red color
