  • What Meguiar's still have diminishing abrasives?

Do any Mcguiar's products still have dimninishing abrasives designed to break down by hand or DA? (not rotary)

    Thanks...

Off the top of my head,

        Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
        A12 Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax
        ColorX
        M85 Diamond Cut Compound
        M84 Power Cut Compound
        M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish
        M82 Swirl Free Polish
        M80 Speed Glaze
        M09 Swirl Remover 2.0
        M66 Quick Detailer
        M20 Polymer Sealant
        M06 Cleaner/Wax

All ScratchX versions before ScratchX 2.0 (There's a lot of ScratchX out there in garages across the world)

Might have missed one or two so feel free to ask about any products you have questions about

The M80, M82, M83, M84, M09, M20, M06 that's all i know. It's mainly the old compounds. The new ones (105/205) use new technology. The new ones work great by rotary as well.

I asked previously about getting swirls/spiderwebs out of my black Honda motorcycle. I had fantastic success using a DA with ScratchX, amazing and all I would want. But that was 1.0. I'll try 2.0, but I also want to find another product with diminishing abrasive that I can use.

Thanks. I'm very pleased with the success.

Hi Mike, oops, I noticed something that makes me think I was not clear. You include M09. Is that Meguiar's #9? That does not have diminishing abrasives now, so I was just referring to currently sold products. Do all the rest still have DIMINISHING abrasives and are still sold?

              Thanks,
              Jim

Re: What Meguiar's still have diminishing abrasives?

The part number for #9 = M09 or the letter M followed by a zero followed by the number 9 or M09

If it comes in a 16 ounce bottle then the part number would be M0916
If it comes in a gallon, then it would be M0901

Make sense? (There's actually a rhyme to the reason)

Everything I listed is being manufacture except for the old ScratchX. I included it because there's a zillion tubes of it in the market place, either on the shelf of some small town auto parts store or on the shelf in someone's garage.

The new ScratchX 2.0 uses SMAT or Super Micro Abrasive Technology, not DAT or Diminishing Abrasive Technology

                Does that help?

                What are you working on?
What are you trying to accomplish?

Yep, thanks! I did not know so many products had diminishing abrasives. Will you be moving all your products to SMAT?
