  • Pick Up bed cover

My dad has a beautiful Tundra in solid black. The bed cover is by SnugTop. My question is: Has anyone ever worked on one of these before? I dont know if the paint is soft because of the plastic and would rather not have to have the cover resprayed. I'd like to do polishing with Mirror Glaze 9 to remove swirl marks, but wanted to ask first.

I am not sure what your question is exactly, if it is about the paint or the bed cover.
If it is the bed cover you can clean it with APC 10:1 and the Hyper Dressing 1:1
If it is the paint, I do not think that having a bed cover on would soften the paint.
I believe Toyota Paint is on the hard side though.

If it's a fiberglass top, the paint should be very similar to the paint on the truck.

It may be Gelcoat like mine is. I treat mine no different than the paint on the vehicle, it polishes up nicely.

The original thread was about the paint. I didn't know if the paint was too soft to do anything with. Thanks a lot guys, this forum really helps! I'll get some pics up of the the truck when I get it finished
