    Re: Griot's Garage

Time to step in here and remind everyone of our our forum rules that don't allow bashing people, products or companies.

    Forum Rules

    4. No bashing any company or their products. No bashing other people. If you can't say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything at all.

It can be hard to form your words and thoughts in a way to discuss a topic in a way that doesn't bash but do try...

    Thanks!

I alway call people out on bad info. Your age doesn't matter. You should have set him straight and embarrassed him.
    They are Snake Oil Salesmen!
Always stand up for what's right and don't let people put you down because of your age.

Yeah, I picked up their catalog. It basically has every product they have with a lengthy description. That would be cool if Meguiar's or ADS made something like that

I have used their Speed Shine (very good) , Spray on Wax (Good, but UQW is world's better IMO), clay bar (one of the best I tried) and Glass Cleaner (likes it but I realized I can make the same product for 1/10 of the cost) That said, they do have nice products but are on the expensive side, especially compared to Meguiar's products.

I agree that at shows like this, the salesmen are sometimes the only tangible link to customers. Improper techniques and attitudes can sour the company in many customer's minds.

From what I remember alot of Griots products are just re-badged products from someone else that they sell. I have used a few of their products and I was impressed with the speed shine and the long-lasting tire gel. Also from what I understand their DA is a unit that is made in Tawain or something. I am not 100% sure on this information but I think what appeals to many consumers about that company is their very nice catalog and how simple it is to purchase what you need since it explains so much and makes it simple to the average consumer.

I do agree with the last sentence and applies to some of the speculation in this thread. No company, even Meg's cannot control what some "salesman" say about their product...just talk to any car salesman.

A salesman may taint a potential purchaser's desire to make a purchase the product but the product itself is affected. That is, if Griots makes a good wash, it stil is a good wash.

Well Megafast, that stuff is all about marketing. Anyone who gets people to buy stuff has done a good job at what they do. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean that the customers will be getting the best in car care. What's good about Meguiar's is their products are very good AND they respect car care so they don't just let anyone tell people how to use their products. On the other hand, anyone off the street could start calling themselves an authority and giving instruction. This is why it's important to consider the source before taking action.

Yeah, I saw the shoes on the website and it made me

It is a really really nice bag. I will take some more shots of it if you'd like.

It has a stainless steel handle with foam, a shoulder strap, a side area for bottles, special compartments, and it's screwed together. Very sturdy product I recommend.

    Here's the bag

Hey, I figured that. I think they should have made a DA not an Random Orbit lol

I almost got some of their clay, but decided not to.

Sounds like I got the right stuff. The MF's feel amazing, and that bag is VERY High quality.

There Speed Shine and the car wash is some pretty decent stuff. But other than that im not really a big fan of Griot's.I saw a video on youtube that they posted and its says not to use a rotary polisher because it will scratch your car.Obviously just trying to sell their orbital.

I do not think it is that weird to apply 20 pound of pressure on a DA.
But it still hurts me inside, that people see and hear this and repeat it on their car. Then they wonder why it got worse or it did not help a thing.
