Does anyone know what would be best to use on my hood scoop thats on my Duster. I believe it is a fiberglass piece. It's black and it's a single stage paint. It has some scratches on it but I can't seem to remove them. Im afraid i'll go through the paint if I use something too aggresive. I would think the paint would be thin. Here is a pic I found on my computer. Sorry it's not closer. All info is appreciated. Thanks

Re: Hood scoop
Hi:
I would start with one of the cleaner waxes and see how it goes. If it is actually single stage the color should come off on the applicator. Depending on how that went; the original Scratch X ( not 2.0) is pretty mild. I would slowly work the scratches using a high tech applicator pad and Scratch X using light pressure at first. After each application wipe the area clean and inspect very closly. After one or two applcations of Scratch X; if the scratches are still there I would probably stop and put some wax on it.

Re: Hood scoop
Recently I have tried the new swirl X. I have the original scratch X but never tried it yet. The scratches didn't come out but the surface on the right side looked slightly faded when under a florescent light. While the left side seemed to have a slightly better shine. The black did come off onto the applicator. Once it's outside in sunlight it dosn't seem too noticable, unless im up close. I'll have to try the scratch X I have just as "Ktruck" suggested and see how that goes.
Thanks for everyones feedback. The more info the better

Based on what you have used so far I would probably not do anything more to it and just live with the scratches that are in it. Black single stage paint is usually very workable and you have used a pretty aggressive product on it.
