  • Detailing fees

I have someone that would like me to bring a new car shine to a ten year old BMW four door sedan, black with lots of swirls and light scratches. Nothing that needs to be wet sanded however. What would be a proper fee for a clay bar, medium cit cleaner, fine cut cleaner, swirl remover polish, and a waxing?

    Re: Detailing fees

Myself, I would charge around $200, including wash, clay, paint cleaner of some sort (83/ultimate compound), finer cleaner (80), and an LSP. But if its real bad, it would be more.

I would guesstimate the time based on what you think you need to do. I charge about $25-30/hr roughly for my work depending how bad.

But I do it more for side job/hobby than a full job, so other people may be able to help out more then I can!

Wash, clay, medium cleaner, fine cleaner, swirl remover polish and a wax? That's 6 different steps!

For your question, I would charge $50 an hour. With 6 different steps, you're looking at about $500-$800 from me

My suggestion would be to work smarter not harder Invest in some M105 and M205 if you have a machine(rotary, G100, G110, etc...). You could knock your plan down a few steps with these products. And you may even only need the M205 and do it in 1 step.

How does the M205 differ from the fine cut cleaner?

Scratch that. I ment the scratch and swirl remover.
