We all started out with no experience but discussion forums are very helpful as they enable people with experience to share with others. There's an old say that goes like this,

"Try to learn from other people's mistakes as you might not live long enough to make them all on your own"

The reason there was a problem with this member's results was due to wrong technique and/or applicator choice and probably both. This is also why we post over and over again for people to do what we call a Test Spot.

Here's a PERFECT example of a new member, reading the forum and then before going over the entire car they did a Test Spot and confirmed their choice of products together with their skill and ability to apply, work and wipe the products off produced the results they were hoping for and expecting.

    Test spot

    After Results

Do what is called a "Test Spot", that is test the products you're thinking about applying to the entire car to one small area or spot. Apply the product according to the directions for using the product and then inspect your results.

Technically you would perform the entire process to the test spot and then do a final inspection, that is if you're going to use SwirlX, followed by NXT Tech Wax, then you would apply and remove all of these products to the test spot and then inspect the end results because in the real world this would be your Final Results.

    Make sense?

Make sure you and your skills and abilities and the products you have chosen to use can make one small area look good before going over the entire car. If you can't make one small area look good you certainly won't be able to make the entire car look good.

No if you're talking about the old ScratchX and Yes if you're talking about ScratchX 2.0

        See below...

Aggressiveness Order for New Consumer Products - This will surprise you!

Since we introduced these 3 new swirl and scratch removers in our Consumer Line and our new M205 Ultra Finishing Polish in our Professional line, many people have asked how aggressive these new products are as compared to some of our existing products that our forum members are already familiar with to help them understand the cleaning and/or abrading ability of these new products I've listed them in order of most aggressive to least aggressive reading from left to right.

(Apologies ahead of time if you have to horizontal scroll)

Most aggressive to least aggressive -->

That would be from most to least aggressive,
        • M105 Ultra Cut Compound
        • Ultimate Compound
        • ScratchX 2.0
        • SwirlX
        • M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish
        • M205 Ultra Finishing Polish - M80 Speed Glaze (Different types of abrasives but close in cut ability)
        • ScratchX (Current Version being discontinued)

I moved your posts into your own thread instead of having them tag onto another member's thread.

Alway feel free to start your own thread for a project you're working on or topic you want to discuss.

Most everyone here has been on a forum like that and forums where you get flamed, bashed or told to use the search button kind of take the fun out of participating...

I wish I had some pictures of the first car I sanded and buffed out with a rotary buffer as well as the actual dinosaur rotary buffer, the incredibly worn and tatty wool pad the the quart jug of some no-name compound...
