  • How To Detail A...?

I am starting my business around my neighborhood finally.

My next door neighbor has a Black 2004 Corvette Convertible he wants me to detail.

All I have a the moment is 83/80 for polishes, but what is this paint like on this car. What do you guys recommend?

    Also,

I am going to detail my other neighbor's 1965 Shelby Cobra Blue/White Stripes (Replica)

Do these things have roofs, or am I just going to be extremely careful washing it?
It is most likely new clear coat and such. Should what I have work fine or would the M105/M205 work better on each cars?

Well, I highly suggest a test spot on the vehicle before accepting the full job. Many people won't even accept modern Corvette paint correction jobs because they *can* be extremely hard paint. Of course, there are always exceptions (hence the suggestion for trying it out first), but there is a good chance it will be a hard clear coat.

I would highly suggest an M105/M205 combo without a doubt for that job as well.

As for the Cobra- ask the owner about the roof.

As long as the damage warrants it, M105-->M205 likely makes the most sense for that vehicle as well.

So M105/M205 are better than M83/M80 both of these paints?

I recently did a 2008 Corvette and was able to do some minor defect removal with D151. Now I'm talking very minimal defect removal, so you'll have to test the car your working on.

I agree with Mark though, M105 and M205 are going to be your best option with the Vette.

See if the Cobra was sprayed in Single Stage or Clear Coat, I know it's a replica but it could have been sprayed in Single Stage.
