  • Spray Wax vs Quick Detailer

If I have time after washing my car, would I be better to put NXT Spray Wax or Ultimate Quick Detailer to preserve the shine?

I like the UQD, use it regularly

On a freshly washed car, I would use the new Ultimate Quick Wax and save the UQD for removing light dust a day or so later.

The UQW would leave more protection, but even the UQD is better than nothing.

Truth is both will work great, the primary difference in application and wipe-off is the UW is supposed to dry first while the UQD is a WOWO product, (Wipe-on, Wipe-off).

Because correctly applied the Ultimate Wax layer is very thin, it takes very very little time for it to flash dry, as in minutes so the time factor isn't really an issue.

Like mentioned, since the paint will clean after washing, use the UW and save the UQD for when you have light dust to remove.

UQW is a great product, i was not a fan of spray waxes before but UQW changed that, its a great maintenence tool.

For the price, the spray wax is better than a spray detailer. You get real gloss and some longer lasting protection. I just use detailers for clean up (bugs or spot work) but a spray wax when I want longer lasting gloss and a wax boost. The price is about the same...get the spray wax and get more for not more extra work.

Say Mike, My bottle of UQW doesn't say anything about letting it dry or haze before removing. I used this product like a QD and while I got great results, I was surprised to hear that I should have let it set-up.

It says: "Mist product to one section at a time. Quickly spread the product with a clean Supreme Shine Microfiber towel. Turn to a clean, dry portion of towel for final wipe-off..." It doesn't say anything about letting it haze or set-up.

I read that to mean UQW was a WOWO product. If I read it that way, I think most consumers will also make that assumption. Might need to have someone rewrite that copy and revise future label instructions.

I checked on this question and here's the deal, best results for protection from this product is to let the product dry to a haze before wiping it off. Luckily this doesn't take very long in normal/warm temperatures as long as you're applying a thin coat.

You can use it like a WOWO product but again, best results are achieved when you let the product dry before wiping it off.
