I was going to pick one up as a pad spin dry-er (lol). Be careful though, I've heard that some slow under pressure and some also have sporadic speed up and speed downs

Is it really that much cheaper than a g110?

You can grab one for $30 when they are on sale. I have one and its adequate - I'd say save the $ up for a g110 or pc.

Just want to say that it looks like a Rotary so it's not the same as a Dual Action Polisher nor Orbital

              Yalerd,

I was thinking the same. If it is a rotary, and you have NO experience with one, you could find yourself doing more harm than good. When I bought, I opted for the G110 DA polisher because I knew if I jumped into a rotary I would have done something really ugly! LOL

Hi Mike! Is that machine a rotary? If it is then I don't want it. I'm not experienced enough to use a rotary... I'm just trying to polish out the fine scratches and swirls I have from bad washes and other stuff. The scratches do not catch on the nail so I know it can polish out. I have one of those "Traditional Orbital Buffer" and I don't think it works well at all. I want a da polisher but don't want to spend more than $50... I know this is kind of hard but yeah...

Yes, that is a rotary polisher.

If you are trying to remove decent defects (moderate swirls and light scratches), a traditional orbital is not going to be the right tool for the job.

There are occasionally some well used Porter Cable polishers (7334, 7335, 7336, and 7424) available on eBay, but I'm not sure if they will be below $50.

Also, you will need to invest in some pads to use with the polisher.

I purchased a G110 last summer after going through 4 cheap orbitals over several years time. There is no comparison in the job the G110 does compared to the cheap orbitals and like the others have said....a rotary can cause you big problems unless you are adept at using one. I'd suggest saving your money until you can afford the G110. Maybe Santa can kick in?

In most cases, you will be more effective working by hand than with a traditional orbital buffer when it comes to removing swirls and scratches, it has to do with the difficulty in removing scratches out of modern clear coat paints and the fact that you can apply more pressure with your hand than you can with these older style polishers.

These old style orbital buffers were effective at removing oxidation back in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's but they just don't work well on clear coat paints.

That's fine Mike... I'll try to sign up for a future class. Thanks for all your answers! I guess I'll just save for a G110.

I have used one a couple tines and it works alright. For what you described though, a DA would be better and safer.

A few more questions... Here is the ebay link I will be asking about... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Megui...Q5fAccessories

Anyways on to the questions... Is that the newest version? The one that uses the 2.0 pads? What kind of pads are those? If I do buy that what is the order from least aggressive to most aggressive?

Also can I just get a Porter Cable 7424 and use the new 2.0 pads? The PC 7424 is noticeable cheaper than the G110...
