  • What Glaze or Polish?

I have a white chevy tahoe with very clean paint. I plan on applying NXT 2.0 followed by a coat of m26 for the final step, but what would you guys use for a glaze/polish before i apply the two coats of wax?

Are you working by hand or machine
What are you trying to achieve for the paint cleaning/polishing step

        What he said^

        By hand:

Try the new 2009 Ultimate Compound or SwirlX along with ScratchX 2.0

        By machine:

#7 is a good pure polish, but #205 is a cleaner/polish that is leaving real nice finishes on peoples cars.

If you want a smooth finish then you could clay your car

Lots of recommendations for you in this thread, all will work, but just to clarify, when you say the paint is very clean, do you mean you've washed the car really well or do you mean the paint is smooth and clean because it's been recently clayed and had a paint cleaner massaged over each square inch?

                There's a difference.

Does the paint feel smooth and silky like clean glass when you feel it after it's washed and dried?

If so, and you just want to insure the paint is clean and smooth before applying wax then something light would be a great prep-step before applying wax.

SwirlX is brand new and would work well for you, so would anything with some light cleaning action, for example ColorX or ScratchX or M09 Swirl Remover 2.0

Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner is also an excellent light paint cleaner that will leave your car's paint clean and smooth, perfect for applying a wax to and it's easy to find, easy to apply and wipe off.

Just remember only waxes and paint sealants need to dry, everything else is applied, worked over the paint, and then wiped off immediately.

                  Pro Line Glaze

Working with a DA polisher, does anyone have an opinion on whether M03 machine glaze or M80 speed glaze would be better for a white truck already with clean paint? or are these two products close enough in formula that it doesn't make a difference?

I would use M205 if you have it.

                      Re: Pro Line Glaze

M80 is more aggressive and would clean and remove minor swirls and imperfections better than the machine glaze. I have only used the M80 and it works really well, but I was using it as a cleaner to get all the imperfections out. It finished really well.

When you say a white truck already with clean paint do you mean no scratches?

                        Re: Pro Line Glaze

M80 Speed Glaze is a cleaner/polish. It has diminishing abrasives that will remove defects from the paint and then it will polish out to get a very glossy finish.

M03 Machine Glaze is a pure polish, it has no cleaning abilities, it will enhance how the paint looks leaving a well prepared finish with a very glossy deep wet look

On a white car, you can never get the gloss you get from a black or dark colored car but you can get very nice results.

Have you already clayed and used any kind of product to remove defects from the paint? Or is the finish already in a fine state for your eyes?

Merged your two threads as they are basically the same question. It's only necessary to post a question one time.

M03 is a non-abrasive pure polish and M80 is a cleaner/polish with the ability to remove light swirls and scratches.

Base your choice on the condition of your truck's paint and what you want to accomplish.

Thanks for the information guys, since its a white truck and there are only minor surface scratches, but u have to get really close to the paint to see them, seems like the M80 would be a perfect choice for a polish before the last step.
