Re: Am I right? Gold Class has a deeper Gloss?

I think the gold class gives a deeper shine on dark paints because it has a lot more of the moisturizing oils then NXT. In my experience If you take the extra time to do a pure polish step with a product like M81 (my favorite) or M7 before the NXT you will get the darkening effect that gold class would give you plus the longer lasting aspect of NXT

This is an interesting question and perhaps one or more people would be willing to do a side-by-side comparison and see if they can see a difference between GC and #7+NXT.

I just polished my car last weekend with #7 and Collinite 845. I was looking at it today, and I swear that the paint does look a little bit different than it did with 845 alone. But maybe I'm fooling myself. But I think it looks different ... and better.

I have applied NXT over #7, but I do not know if the #7 made a difference or not. I've never done a side-by-side comparison. NXT does have some mild cleaners, so I wonder if they would remove the oils #7 left behind; but I honestly don't know. I do know that I like the way the car looks after I apply #7, but what I'm not sure about is how the application of different waxes affects that look. I do like applying the stuff, though!

Even if there was no objective need for #7, I think someone would have to invent it. I want to believe that there is something more I can do, when all the polishing is done, that can make a difference. A glaze or pure polish fulfills that function.

      Cheers,
      Al

Just wondering if using these 2 together, should I apply NXT 2.0 first and then GC or just the opposite? I am a newbe, so hope this doesn't sound too off the wall.

I want to know too, please.

I believe that the general practice of those who mix NXT and GC is to apply NXT and then top with GC.

A Gold Class someday formulated to last like NXT would be my #1 product.

thats interesting point you bring up, because when i did my wife's expedition i put 7 then nxt2.0 so i wonder if it took off some of the oils, maybe Mike will comment?

FYI: Here in Roanoke Advance Auto has Gold Class wax on sale for less than $8.00.

yeah, Gold Class is way cheaper but harder to find than NXT
