Spray Waxes are generally treated as a booster wax- to be used inebtween thorough cleanings and waxing.
It's a great way to maintain and prolong the protection of standard paste or liquid waxes.
Meguiar's just released a new, and vastly improved spray wax known as Ultimate Quick Wax- you should definitely check it out if you like quick, easy, and quality wax in a spray form.
A spray wax isnt going to leave as good of a wax layer behind. I used them after washing, but switched to UQD when it came out. Seems to do just as much a lot easier.
That said, the new Ultimate Spray Wax seems like it might be a winner.
the ultimate quik wax is a great product and has lasted though a few washes for me. but remember, this shouldn't be used as a replacement for a traditional wax and you won't get good results unless you apply it to a finish that has a good coat of wax and is in good shape...
UQD is a quick detailer- it is meant to wipe away light dust and/or fingerprints, and happens to leave some hydrophobic polymers behind along with a clean, shiny surface.
UQW requires that the surface is already cleaned (perhaps a wash, perhaps with UQD or another quick detailer), and then sprayed and buffed into the paint. It leaves more substantial, actual wax protection.
