  • Meguiar's Drying Towels.....

I'm in the market for some new drying towels. I have some of Meg's older waffle weaves, which in all honesty, didn't dry well after 2 uses. Have these been improved on? Let me know. I'm needing some plush, thicker ones for no-rinse washing.

    Thanks guys.

I think the Water Magnets are still pretty much the same.

I'm afraid that I have found the Water Magnet to be very disappointing.

Same here. I do like the cali towel from ADS and the Vroom towel from target though.

I'm kinda glad to see it just wasn't my towels. Then again, I wish was just mine.

What causes them not to work well?

I just ordered 3 of the California Drying Towels from ADS. I'll post a review once they arrive and the temperature gets above freezing.

According to Rick they are softer and are made from a different quality of materials (same basic design).

My Meg's WM's work fine. Have used and washed them several times. You're not washing them with the MF's you use to wipe off your wax are you?

I recently tried the Meg's Super Suede Drying Cloth and found that to work really well, too. I now use the drying cloth first, followed by one of the WM's.

They work better if you flood the surface which I can't do in the winter at the coin op. They just are much less absorbent than my other choices. Washing them with your wax removing towels lowers their absorbancy quite a bit.

How are you guys washing your waffle weave towels? When people say they stop working after 1-2 washings that tells me that there is something going on in the washing phase

I have a hard time believing the towels literally "break" in that short amount of time.

In fact, I had the same problem and found that it had to do with me washing all of my microfiber together. Split drying towels to be alone, or withOUT wax or sealant removal towels.

My waffle weaves turned into saran wrap when I wasn't properly washing them.

I also add in 2 ounces of distilled white vinegar into the rinse cycle.

I have the Vroom towel from target and I was not very impressed with it.
But I use it for drying windows after cleaned with glass cleaner or for claying.
I use 2 Soft Touch Microfiber Chamois followed up by 2 Water Magnets.

I have had very good success with the Marine water magnet. I really like the larger size. Also I tried the "Microtek" large drying towel from Wal- Mart. It also does a very good job. They are pretty plush. Try thr marine water magnet, I think you will be happy with it.
