  • Quick Detailing spray for new paint?

My Luthien is in the body shop. I'm getting the passenger door re-sprayed (a bird-bomb burned through the clearcoat a year ago; I didn't notice it until it was too late). I know that the paint needs to cure for 90 days, and therefore I am not allowed to wax it during the interim period. But what about quick detailing spray? Are there any out there I can use? I already have Megs' Quick Detailer, UQD, and Last Touch. May I use any of these? If not, are there any OTC sprays I can use? I'd prefer not to have to order a gallon of a professional line product just for this door. TIA.

I'm pretty sure Final Inspection is safe, but I'm sure one of the Mike's will let you know for sure. If it is, it should be available at a local autoparts store.

Ask your painter to be sure but when had a body panel repainted on the Liberty they said I could wash it after 2 weeks and use compounds/polishes after 90 days.

Check with your painter to be sure though as paint systems are different.

M34 Final Inspection would be the absolute safest and what we would recommend. This product is "paintable" and used in body shops all the time.

It is also comes in a 16oz size

Why 90 days. I worked for a restoration shop , and they recomended just 30 days . They used a hardner in the paint and they also had a oven.

I don't know the answer, but 90 days is what he told me.

Technically, you can wash, sand, compound, polish, and use Final Inspection on it fairly quickly. You just don't want to use any products that will inhibit the curing process.

All paints are different, but some shops will sand and polish within a few hours, and other have to wait weeks. It all depends on the paint used

I would go by what the shops recommends so there are no warranty issues.
