So the thread was started with this question...

    • STUNNING is all I can say!
    • Not a swirl to be found.
    • The car looks better than when I first bought her.
    • The paint is a deep black and is a beauty to look at.
    • This SwirlX is a big hit with me.
    • I am certainly hooked on this product.
    • It's the best I have ever used.
    It was a simple process

I did have to make several passes with SwirlX on the hood and front of the car because thats where the biggest problem area was.
    In other words,

Step 1 - Machine clean and polish to remove swirls with our W8207 foam polishing pad with SwirlX
Step 2 - Use a W9207 foam finishing pad with NXT Tech Wax to seal the paint.

"No" It's because of the action of the tool. In most cases if you put the same pad on a rotary and use the same product that's causing the haze with a DA, with the rotary you won't get the haze.

It has to do with the action of the tool.

Not sure how else to say it but the tools offer different actions, that and a clutch is what makes them so different.

Let's not take this thread off-topic about the action of tools, if you want to discuss it further start a dedicated thread.

    Thanks!

    Cutting Pad Caution
Anytime you want to use a cutting pad on a DA Polisher, before going over the entire car do a test spot with your pad and product of choice and then inspect the results and make sure you're not hazing the paint.

If possible inspect your results in two kinds of light. Make sure you're happy with the results before going over the entire car.

Mike, Isnt the haze caused by the incomplete "cut" of the surface due to the use of DA which is less aggressive than a rotary? That makes the surface uneven thus it reflects something to our eyes as haze?

    Thanks!

It did for me. After finishing one side I moved the truck into the direct sunlight and could not see any swirls or "spider webs'. Tomorrow I will see how it does on the top and hood.

For anyone still on the fence about trying this product all I can say is give it a try, you won't be dissapointed. Another great Mequiar's product that can be found at most local stores.
So it pretty much takes out light to moderate swirls?

Just finished up using SwirlX. I can't finish the paint yet, touching up some chips first. But I have to tell you, what a great product! Most of the swirls are gone as are many of the fine scratches. When the sun comes up I'll get a better look at the overall job. I'm sure I made some rookie mistakes, but for using both swirlx and the 110 for the first time, Iat least felt like I was accomplishing something. The rest of the car looks and feels great!
