  • Anyone have/use the air wand????? !!!!

just wanted to know if anyone has the air wand. if so does it work good? talk bout your experiences with it thanks guys.

for anyone who doesnt have a clue to what im talking about here it is

The new Air Wand is a high-velocity air nozzle that blows up to 200 m.p.h. to remove dirt, dust, water, leaves (or any other unwanted non-adhered material) from hard-to-reach areas. The Air Wand greatly accelerates nature's drying action with no adverse effects to existing fragile finishes and delicate surfaces.

I just take the spigot off of my hose and run water all over the car and it runs right off and I have minimal drying to do.... Now that I wash the wheels first

I may be missing something. It looks like to me that it is really just a narrow air flow tube to pinpoint were the air from the leafblower is going. This way by concentrating the air in a narrow plume it increases air velocity.

If this is for you get it. I personally will stick with the flood rinsing technique, and then do minimal drying.

If you get it let us know how it works.

In industrial processing a device that delivers a thin sheet of air like that is called an “air knife.” They’re very common for drying applications and quite effective. They’re also used in “no touch” automatic car washes.

There are a couple of guys over on Autopia who use the Air Wand and seem to be satisfied with it. You might want to search over there for their comments about what they like and dislike about it.

Doesn't look like it would be that bad as long as you just don't let it touch the surface.

I use the blower on my vacuum to get water out of crevices and between trim pieces.

Huh, the "Air Wand" actually looks like it might be pretty good. I like that long "wand" for the drying. Seems it would be easier to work with than a leaf blower...
