  • cleaning foam pads for PC

I have a bunch of PC pads that I would like to clean but what is the process to cleaning them. One way was for me to put it on the rotary and clean them off with a brush, while that seemed to take off the residual I would still get small specs of dust on the car when I use it to detail with my PC. What I am afraid of is that those little tiny dust balls are or may be creating little microscratches on the surface of the vehicle. What should I do? Any input would be greatly appricated

Usually what I do is run my pads under water with the foam side up, then pour some Murphy's oil soap on there about the size of a coin dollar bill, smear it around, fold the pad in 1/2 like a taco scrub away. Then I rinse it off and repeat the process. I usually do it twice to ensure it's fully clean. Works for me,,,,,deadman98

      Hi screemingtp,

I'm going to write a "How-To" article for this question with pictures because it is an often asked question and a lot of people have difficulty in cleaning their pads after use.

I'll try to do it today.

Until then, if you do a search using the search button and these words,

      Foam Pad Clean

You should turn up some threads that will help you.

Hopefully, maybe, this week. It involves taking pictures, formatting, writing and this and that...

It's 1:30pm already today, where does the time go...

I did re-work our forum rules because we had a member with two accounts. This member has now been banned.

Sometimes there are things going on behind the scenes that nobody sees but are very important. I've had some scheduling issues because of the hack attack a month or so ago that has put two clubs here on the same Saturday... Whoops! It's not directly my fault, but I get to deal with it.

And lots of e-mail and PM's flying around all of the time... but... I'm going to try to finish the PC pad cleaning tips this week.
