  • NXT 1.0 Paste - QD on applicator?

    Hi Everyone,

In the past I've gotten some great results with NXT 1.0 paste so I've never moved up to 2.0. However, I'd like to make application easier.

Would spritzing the applicator with QD help with application, and at the same time, not impact on the durability and looks of the wax?

    Thanks,

    Nick.

A spritz at first shouldnt be a big deal. What has been causing difficulty?

If you dampen the applicator pad with a Quick detailer then you may be putting the wax in jeopardy of doing its job and bonding to the paint.

But what i usually do is let the pad dampen itself by just simply start waxing and before you know it your pad will be moist and will be easier to apply to the car as you keep going.

      I hope this helps

Have you tried claying the car.
I am just thinking that the bonded contaminants could be hindering the application.
Or maybe the wax is old and a little dry.

Then again, Nxt tech wax 2.0 has easier on/off application

Maybe its time to upgrade............just kiddin

I would happily upgrade but I still have 2/3 of a tin of NXT 1.0 that is a year old now. And since 1.0 has given me great results, I'm happy to keep with it.

Basically, application is ok but I was hoping to make it as easy as the liquid version. My Gold Class liquid glides on like a dream, so I'm looking for some of that same magic with my NXT paste.

The QD I had in mind is Last Touch.

I've found that after waxing a panel or two with 1.0 paste. It's hard to control the amount of the product to go on the pad. If you put too much on it will result a thicker film will take longer to dry. And therefore harder to remove.

Try cleaning the pad the next time that you use it. And then, spin the foam pad in the can with little force. practice makes perfect with 1.0.

Well, I just had a bit of a play and it seemed to work really well, but I wouldn't want to do it if it compromises on the performance of the wax.

One spritz of Last Touch allowed the wax to effortlessly glide over the paint, even with light pressure on the applicator. Probably need to spritz the applicator another 4 or 5 times if I were to do a whole car. I would think I could do a whole car in half the time it usually takes me.

Usually you don't want to mix water or other liquids into your car wax or paint sealant either by adding to the product itself or wetting your applicator pad.

The products are designed to work out of the can or out of the bottle using good technique so maybe there's something we can do to help tweak your technique?

Re: NXT 1.0 Paste - QD on applicator?

The NXT 1.0 paste applies as good as any other paste IME, but I guess I'm developing a preference for the liquid waxes so I was trying to create some sort of hybrid . But if the paste version was never meant to be used in this way, I may as well get the liquid version and take the opportunity to upgrade to NXT 2.0. If it applies as nice as Gold Class liquid, I'll be very happy.

                      Thanks for the feedback.

Actually, I just remembered, I have a big bottle of #21 2.0 that I'd forgotten about!!!!
