  • Winter depression

This is absolutely the pits of the year for a detail enthusiast in the northeast. Winter *****. I can't do anything with any of my cars; too cold, too much **** on the roads, dark after work, can't get the hose out.

I know it will get better sometime, but it sure doesn't look good now. My DD looks like it's been to war. Ugh.

I'm feeling your pain! I can't wait for spring!

Don't tell anyone, I went through a touchless wash tonight. I just couldn't take the salt anymore.

Before I had a heated garage I would wash our trucks outside once a month during the winter just to get the salt off it. sometimes the water would freeze before i got the chance to dry the truck. I swear i wore 4 layers of socks, and ome time i wore 5 sweatshirts and 2 coats just so i would not stop midway through washing because i was cold

I steam cleaned one of the family cars tonight. Amazing what the power of steam can do to caked on road salt. Its my new secret weapon!

Thankfully in Oz we don't have freezing winters. Generally the winter cold is not strong enough to stop the detailing goodness .

I was in Connecticut for Christmas and looked all over for a touchless wash, and couldn't fine one. Asked a couple of guys at the washes and they never even heard of a touchless wash. Whats with CT (around Meriden) and no touchless?

Many of you know that I moved from Northern, NJ to Toronto Canada. As of yesterday, we have received 115 centimeters of snow (or about 46 inches) this season).

If had the snow blower out at least 6-10 times. My 350 has been pretty much on lockdown (no snow tires), but the CR-V is a disaster. I don't know how I'm going to survive two more months without a chance to detail.

Same here. Took mine through a touch-free on Sunday. Just didn't feel up to another ONR wash and couldn't stand the salt anymore. Figured I'd re-apply my wax if I have to rather than let the salt sit on my paint.

Unfortunately, had some snow yesterday and the car is covered with salt again already!
