  • Metal versus Other Surfaces

HI Guys: I am ready to perform a 5 step tomorrow on my 2000 ML320 for the first time. I will applying steps 3 & 4 with my new Meguiars DAP. My question is this. Should I polish and wax metal only or can I use also apply these to the non-metal parts like the bumpers and side moldings that are the same color as the car. Thoughts? -Kevin

    Re: Metal versus Other Surfaces

Work on anything that is painted, it doesn't really matter what the underlying panel is made out of as this varies from manufacture to manufacture.

You want to address all the painted surfaces.

Polish/wax all painted portions of the car.

There are special polishes for Plastics, trim, and metal.
