  • Any tips and techniques for Orbital

I have relative success in using some of the consumer line and have access only to an Orbital Polisher.
What are the tips and techniques of using an Orbital polisher?
What are the suitable or recommended products that works well with it?

    Check this out,

Chris's keys to the orbital buffer

Basically, you slap a clean bonnet on the buffing pad of your orbital, spread some product onto the car or the face of the buffer and turn it on and start gliding it over the paint.

Orbitals don't offer much ability when it comes to correction work, that is removing swirls and scratches, so for the most part they are just "Wax Spreaders", that is they're good at spreading out a coat of wax or paint sealant.

If you have swirls and scratches you want to remove and you really want to work your car's paint up to a nice looking finish then you will be better off to rub the paint out using one of these,

    Swirl and Scratch Removers
    Ultimate Compound
    ScratchX 2.0
    SwirlX

Most aggressive to least aggressive -->

Or get some M105 from our Professional Line

M105 Ultra-Cut Compound - New Formula DA Polisher Approved

You can use all of the above with your orbital buffer but your 4 fingers pushing down on a wax applicator pad can exert more force to the paint to remove swirls and scratches than the buffing pad on an orbital buffer will do because all the pressure is spread out over a much larger surface and they are usually of low speed which is another way of saying low or little power.
