hi all im from England in the UK a small county called Cheshire and would like to say hi to all members. Could you kind people help me with a my black x5. When the weather finally becomes good i want to shine my x5, i have already been using nxt but see on the forums that gold class also looks good (havnt tried gc) i also use nxt wash and find these products excelent. we have a limited supplier where i live and so need all your help with my questions.

my x5 has a few spider webs not serious and want to get an ultimate finish, the finish is good at the min but i want it perfect. should i try a polisher or use scratch x or is that to harsh. in the past i have used imperial hand glaze to smooth the surface and then top with nxt all by hand and this seems good, any suggestions will be great as to where to start as i have not been able to polish due to our cold, wet and frosty season.

Imperial Hand Glaze is as far as I know a non-abrasive glaze or similar to a non-abrasive pure polish in the Meguiar's line. If you have swirls and scratches then you want something besides IHG

ScratchX is not harsh, so have no fear here, just make sure you're working on a clean car and everything that touches the paint needs to be soft and clean, for example your wax applicator pad needs to be something like a clean foam applicator pad.

Maybe pick up a tube of ScratchX and a couple of new, clean foam applicator pads and test it out on a section, that is apply about a teaspoon to a tablespoon of product, work a section about a foot squared and then wipe off the excess and apply our choice of wax. Let the wax dry and then wipe off the dried reside and at this point inspect the results from where you worked to the the paint surrounding the area you worked.

It should look better. If it does, then repeat this process over the entire car. If it doesn't then post back here.

Also, read through this so you understand what it is you're trying to do when you're trying to remove swirls, scratches or any other type of below surface defect.

What it means to remove a scratch out of anything...
