  • Claybaring glass?

Would claybaring glass really do anything on glass? Currently I have like specs on my windshield that you can see especially when it is sunny. I already cleaned off the windshield with Invisible glass and check after that. They are still there. Are this like small pits in the glass? or are there contaminants in the glass?

Well, could be pits or could be contaminants.

Just try claying and see what happens, the clay can remove contaminants.

You'll have to clean your glass after claying.

Would I use the QD or the NXT Glass Cleaner as a the lubricant?

If you're just doing the exterior nothing wrong with using soap and water as a lubricant.

Don't use glass cleaner as a lubricant, it might have a negative effect on the clay like possibly making it gooey?

Use the same quick detailer you would use if you were claying paint.

If the defects are actually pits in the glass then claying won't help and actually not much will depending upon how deep the pits are.

There are some glass polishing kits on the market but these are mostly for clearing up any very light surface abrasion or scuffs, not leveling glass in the case of removing scratches and pits.

Whenever I clay the paint, I always clay the glass. IMHO it makes a big difference.

When we had one of our windows replaced a while back, they actually used a plastic razor blade and went over that piece and I'm assuming they did it to remove anything that might have been on it.

I wouldn't recommend doing it, but I didn't see any scratches on it.
