What product to help drying?

I used to wash my car at my dads place and my car dried fine with a microfiber towel. Now that i do it at home, it's hard to dry. The towels just don't soak up the water, even after using the sheeting method. I'm guessing its because i have harder water.

Is there some Meguiars product i can use? Ive used Prima Hydro to aid in drying but it's really expensive.... $16 shipped for a small spray bottle. PLUS i dont know how Hydro reacts to NXT 2.0 or whatever LSP i chose since it's already a spray wax.

if you sheet off as much water as possible, you've already eliminated 70% of the water to dry off. after, i use a leaf blower (only works well if you have a good coat of wax on) and a waffle weave for the remainder.

I'll dry with a quick detailer kind of product at times.

My process consists of this

Waffle weave towel
maybe 2-3 microfiber towels
and then some quick detailer.
I would suggest getting some canned air to blow out the water in corners and tight spots, mostly under the mirror and where panels meet.

If you washed your drying towels with your wax/polish removal towels, it possible that it made them less absorbent too.

The sheeting technique doesnt work as well as it does at my dad's place. I'm guessing it's the water. At home, there is still a sheet of water on the horizontal surfaces. My towels will only **** up a little at a time. I have to wipe alot. When i spray Prima Hydro, the water gets sucked into the towels like it should. Just wondering of Meguiars makes something that can do that for cheaper.

At my dad's, the sheeting technique works very well. All that remains after sheeting are little droplets that easily get sucked up by the towels.

No i wash them cold. I've read hot isnt good because something with fibers something something.

I do mix my wax removal and drying towels because they are the same towels.... yellow ones from costco. I guess i'm going to have to get some waffle weaves


I'm gonna try some quik detailer next time. See how it works out

i would suggest picking up a few, you can never have enough waffle weaves. they are bigger and are intended for drying, as opposed to using small microfiber towels that you've been using.

When the sheeting method works, i can dry my whole car with one costco towel without wringing it. But ill check those towels out

I would get a Absorber. Yes it's not Meguiar's but out of all the chamois/drying towels I have used, the Absorber is hands down the best. Sense its not leather, you can just throw it in the washer with everything else and your good to go. It comes with a case and its under $10 at Wal-Mart.

Remember that is my opinion and based off my observations.
