Hi, I have a 2006 white dodge charger. I am the second owner of the car so, the previous owner had the car with some swirl marks, merely from washing in car wash places.

The car is always parked in my garage and sees relatively low use (about 7000 miles per year) From three years now i have been washing the car by hand every two-three weeks (two bucket method) claying every six months and doing the manual deep crystal three step method (cleaner, polish and wax) every year.

For the last year i have seen the swirls in my car grow, mostly on the trunk and even that the paint is white i can't stand it anymore.

After reading this forum from one week in a row, i decided to fix it and got a 7424 porter cable pads and mirror glaze pro products.

I am thinking on doing my complete car in two days ( i don´t think that i have the skills to do it all in one day)

On the first day
1. Wash car with down
2. Dry
3. Clay using 1:1 dilution of Last Touch Detail Spray as lubricant (car has plenty of contaminants, this will be difficult)

On the second day
2. Wash the car
2. Dry
3. Try to remove swirls by using M80 with a 8207 pad, if it works, move to step 6, otherwise continue with step 4
4. Remove swirls by using M83 with a new 8207 pad
5. Follow M83 by appliying M80 on the whole car
6. Apply M07 as the poslishing stage with a 9207 pad
7 Apply two coats M21 as the protection stage with a new 9207 pad and remove it with a 7006 pad covered by a micro fiber bonnet.

Please give me your input and let me know what you think about my plan

If you meant Dawn, don't do that. Use Meguiar's Gold Class or NXT car wash. I don't see why you'd wash it again on day 2 if you keep it in a garage but that's up to you.

And yeah, don't try to do all of that in 1 day if it's your first time, you'll probably get super annoyed and be so tired that you'll sleep for a week afterwards.

Yes, i meant dawn, i have read mixed reviews about doing it but i may go on the safe route and do as you suggest, i will be claying afterwards so i guess that this would take all the wax that was left.

I was thinking on washing again on day two because my garage is not completely closed and i am afraid that the car will collect some dust during the night, i was also thinking on using a car cover after claying and don't wash it on the second day.

i would just qd it after the clay on the next day instead of washing it over again.

Looks like a great plan! But the second day looks awfully ambitious, especially with a PC. May I suggest that you eliminate #7. M80 is already full of Meguiar's TSOs, and a coat of #7 may not show any observable optical improvement on a white-colored car. You may also want to plan on one coat of #21, intending to lay down a second coat the next morning (third day). I suspect that by the time you finish with the first coat it will already be late in the day, and you will be utterly exhausted. Perhaps I'm wrong, but you might want to be ready, just in case.

I agree.. no Dawn, you should be able to just QD the next day, and I think Al has the right idea, keep it simple for now, no need for #7 unless you are really set on it.

Do yo uusualy wash with Dawn?

No, i normally wash the car with the deep crystal car wash, i was thinking on usin dawn just this time but taking in consideration the opinios that i got here, i might be better not using dawn and just do a regular wash with deep crystal

Using Dawn one time wont make your car explode... but there is no benefit either, at least not if you are going to do a proper wash/clay/cleaning anyway,

If you haven't already purchased M80 and M83 yet, you may want to consider M205 and M105, instead. Might save you some time getting rid of those swirls. Just make sure you get the new 105 (DA approved).

I think your plan is good.

As others have suggested, no Dawn.

The only other suggestion I would have is try to incorporate step 4 on the first day. Wash, dry and claying should only be a few hours at most. At least get a test spot with #80 done the first day.

Then on the second day, qd the car and you already have a plan of attack. (if the #80 will work or not.)

If the #80 does the job and you feel up to it, finish this step on day one. Then qd and polish and apply your lsp.

I agree i havent seen a noticeable difference using #7 on bc/cc.I have noticed a wetter look from it on single stage paints.
