mineral stains

i have sprinkler system that is on well water and has caused severe coating of i believe iron deposits on paint. i used quick silver once and it helped tremendously but cannot find it anymore. i also used zymol but it was laborous and did not get it off the plastic moulding along the bottom but it did get most off the paint. I have a F-150 lariat black in color. What is the best product to use to remove this build up? please email me since i would like to get this started asap. joek@glasssands.com

I would imagine you could use a good claying, then a good paint cleaner, but hard to say without seeing it.

First read this,

You'll likely have to wash, clay and then locate and use our new ScratchX 2.0, possibly our Ultimate Compound if you have Type II Water Spots. How aggressive you'll have to get depends upon how deep the etchings are if in fact you have Type II Water Spots.[/B]

[B]If you have Type I, then claying should remove most of the problem on the paint but even so, you're usually left with some kind of imprint "in" the paint that will have to be corrected using either ScratchX or Ultimate Compound.

As for non-paint surfaces find a product that's dedicated for cleaning whatever the "material" is and then follow this with a dressing.



More important is to make sure this doesn't happen again!
