  • A question about car soap

How long does a car solution last in the bucket once mixed. I usually mix a batch of 62 for 4 gallons and use it for 2-3 weeks. I wash 4 cars once a week with a two buckets rinse and the other soap.

Huh... interesting. Never done that. I like to have a new batch ready each time I wash but I will also use nearly all 4 gallons of water in my wash bucket during a single wash.

Sounds like you're getting more use out of your car wash than most people. I mix up about 4.5 gallons of car wash solution, wash the vehicle and dump whatever waters left out.

Since you are using car soap for lubrication not bubbles, I'd imagine if the soap solution isn't changed, it would be fine to re-use? I do this sometimes for my truck and DD car in the summer when I am constantly washing them to save some $ by reusing the wash a few times.

I changed the bucket only when it is too low otherwise you would mess up the soap/water ratio. Plus when you are using and second bucket just to rinse. I feel that it's just adds to the soaps longevity since it doesn't get as dirty. When I worked the a car dealership that's when we would change it. 62's lube is the best of any wash that I ever used and I tried a lot of soaps over the years. it's worth the extra cost it's an investment.

I never thought about saving the remaining solution to use later. Always mix a new batch for each wash.
