No, not necessarily. I would stay away from using a DA with a Meg's cutting pad for now. Using it isn't always necessary for removing swirls from your finish. Try using a least aggressive method before committing to a cutting pad.

You really won't know the exact process for getting the job done until you try some test spots. But it does help to have a few items so that this way you have several options to get your job done right the first time.

        Thanks again guys.
It all depends on the paint you are working with. Certain paints will react great to it while others will not achieve the same results. The variable is there, and in my opinion you won't know until you try it. You can always wait and get the newer version when it begins shipping out. What are you working on????

These in general tend to be softer paints. Try some M205 with a polishing pad on speed five, and see what you get. This combo should work well for you. You could also try M86 Solo their to.

                I ended up getting

                -Red Grit Guards
                -APC
                -Super Degreaser
                -Gold Trim Detailer (I needed)
                -M80
                -M83

I already have quite a collection of consumer line products:

                  Hi Megafast13,

Why did you pick M80 over M205?

I just got the samples of M83/80. I will use it up on a car or two then,

When the new M105 is out, I will get some more 2.0 Pads and the 105/205 combo.

You should try the glass cleaner concentrate with a couple bottles to mix it in someday.

That stuff is the best I've tried, and it's the cheapest too.

                      Nice products you ordered though.

Be slightly careful with the all wheel cleaner in your photo. I used it a couple times, and I noticed it it's harsh on some metals like lug nuts and the metal of my calipers, so I stopped and use more agitation with the gentler wheel cleaner (blue bottle one).

                        Thanks for the tips.

I might make another order, I can't help it lol.

                        -Glass Cleaner Concentrate
                        -???

I thought about getting these small pads to do headlights.
Do you guys use this adapter for your DA's? Or do you just use the drill?

I would not get one. No way. It opens up the area between the backing plate and the counterweights inside the DA. I got my finger caught in there last April. Just about took the tip of my finger off as it was powering down (glad it wasn't coming on!). 15 stitches later, fractured bone, and 3 new nails, it still has some nerve damage.

A neat idea, but man, be careful if you get it.
Of course I have pics! These were on the way home......before the swelling and throbbing kicked in!

I would definitely get the glass cleaner concentrate. Also pick up the glass cleaner spray bottle and a sprayer. The concentrate should make about 11 gallons of window cleaner. I would also get a couple microfiber glass towels.

Yikes, thanks for the warning. I guess I will just get the drill mount then.

                              Thanks.
