  • First Detail with the G100 (56k warning)

Well, I received my goody box on Monday and couldn't wait til the next day to try it out.

Here's a pic of my products:

    Here was my process Tuesday:
    1. Quarter carwash to blow off the dust and dirt
    2. Tar and bug remover on lower doors/rockers
    3. NXT car wash with 2 buckets and 2 mitts, one for the upper panels and one for the lower
    3. Meguiars Quick Clay
    4. Wash again with 2 buckets
    5. Dry with WW towel
    6. #83 with yellow pad and #82 with yellow pad on deck lid only (just wanted to try and limited on time)
    7. NXT Tech Wax with finishing pad and removal with ultimate bonnet

    Wednesday:
    1. 2 bucket wash with NXT carwash
    2. NXT Tech Wax with finishing pad and removal with ultimate bonnet
    3. ClearKote Quickshine on windows and rims
    4. Turtlewax on the tires

    And the pics:
    Deck lid 1:

    Deck lid 2:

    Hood:

    Drivers door:

    Back half:

    Whole car:

The car has quite a bit of swirling that I hope to take care of this weekend with 83 /82 but I just couldn't wait to try out the new toy

The NXT is just sick on black, might throw a coat of 26 on this weekend. Also plan on cleaning the seats with Meguiars aloe cleaner and aloe conditioner.

So, how did I do for a newbie?

also a newbie here but I agree...AWESOME JOB. Hard to beat black when it's looking wet & slick that.

I think you did great!!! Looks awesome! The paint doesn't have swirls anymore and the paint just looks deep, rich and shiny.. So long as there's a huge improvement, you should be proud of yourself.

Looks great! If you get some time I would recommend trying a coat of #7 under the Nxt. There isn't a huge difference, however there is enough that it is worth the extra work.
By the way I like your choice of Car and Color

Great work.... I am no pro as well, but certainly, there is now greater drive to achieve what you did on my black S60 as well

Thanks everyone, I was pretty satisfied with just having a clean car until I found this forum and autopia. Now I have the sickness (Especially after seeing Mike do the extreme makeovers and all of Scottwax's work)

LT1: great choice, I had an 86 vert before the 01

                Welcome to the club!

Good job, nice car, great looking results so far. Like most things, the more you do this, the better you will become.
