  • How Long does it take to Wash/Dry your vehicle??

I was wondering how long it takes most of you out there to wash dry and simply put a coat of wax on.
I go to the car wash with friends and find myself there washing and drying twice as long as them.
They mostly all own cars and i own a truck which makes a big difference but stilllll.
So what do you drive and how long to wash, dry and wax?
    Or just wash and dry?

    04 GMC Sierra

Takes me 1.5 hr to wash and dry
and 1 hour to apply wax and lets say another 15-20 wiping all the wax off
and about 15-20 for wax drying to a total of about 3 hours
Sparklin and shinin all the time

    Yep. Relatively the same time.

Be it my sedan or my 4x4s, normally takes me around 2 hours to wash and dry. 2 hour to wax (2 - 3 coats).

My dad does it all in 30mins ...miracle

      Depends on the vehicle size...

My Civic Takes like a half an hour.

      My Lexus, an hour.

      My Van about 2 hours...

I really take my time to do the job right the first time.

It depends on the vehicle. Anywhere from 45 minutes ti a hour and a half.
            quality creates its own demand

Bro and I wash and dry 10-20 minutes at the carwash and very rarely miss a spot(but of course it does happen when we're rushed). depends on size too, Hummers are the worst for time. this includes bug padding the grill/bumper/mirrors/windshield(we're still doing summer cars!), dressing the tires and door jams. 15-25 if i'm alone. At the end bro takes the customers around the car pointing out any necessary repairs. Yes we break a sweat sometmes HAHA.
Of course doing my own car I don't rush, never even timed myself LOL.

Two hours for a 4 door sedan. Wash and Wax.
                    Wash, including wheels
                    Wax
Apply dressing and then over the next couple hours i go in and out to look at my car just incase I didnt miss anything. I always find something I missed for some reason. :P

                        thanks for the input guys
well i guess ill keep doing what im doing

                        Which is
Wash under the hood. rinse whole car. presoak. (get my stuff all ready to wash) rinse. soap/scrub. rinse.

If i apply UQD at the car wash after drying and then realize i have some time to kill and am able to wax my truck will the UQD effect the bond with the wax and the surface??

His methods are just to gruesome to watch for us.. 1 bucket 1 rag and any soap he can get his hands on. Taught him the proper way and told me its too complicated & time consuming

I've just detailed my parents cars and its all back to square one.
                            Oh well..

I here that my dad is the same way with washing his truck IF that is he ever washes it at all.
Scrub brush from at the car wash washes his wheels first then from the ground up before even a single drop of water has touched the surface.....I am not joking he does it this why because he is so subborun (spelling) .
I have done both parents vehicles and they are both back to where they begin before i polished them.
At least i have gottin my mom to use a lambs wool mitt on her car.
