Re: Microfibers - Where to buy?

Sams club, they are decent towels, work well, and the price is right, 25 towels I think for 12 bucks... If they lose their absorbancy after a few washes, no biggie for that price.

Thanks for the replies guys. I picked up 4 of the Cobra Artic White towels from AutoGeek last night. They have a buy 2, get 2 free promo right now. I liked the white towels with blue boarder.

I agree that shorter naps are better for removing waxes, but I need something to dust off my garage care and apply M135. Hopefully these will work. I'll post a quick test when they arrive.

Different nap MF are designed for specific uses and when used outside its design parameters it won't work well. I've noticed a few comments on this thread that bare this out.

For example, using a super-plush towel for wax removal is misuse. Using a short-nap MF for QDing can be classified as misuse.

Just keep this in mind when comparing MF towels, peoples experiences, vendors and prices.
I don't consider using a short nap Ultimate Wipe MF for QD'ing as a misuse. I have QD hundreds of times and found the plushest MF towels take longer to wipe off product. They tend to spread wetness back onto the paint. Even the Supreme Shine don't work as effectively as Ultimate Wipes at QD'ing. This has been my experience at least.

Alfisti, recommend a plush MF towel for me to use to QD and I will buy one and try it out.

I have not yet used the Ultimate Wipe to remove quick detailer, but I have found that the Ultimate Wipetowel works very well for the "final wipe" when buffing off a carnauba wax. For the initial wipe-off of a wax I usually use a Superior Shine or equivalent.

I have been using two towels for quick detailing: a plush towel for the initial wipe and a shorter-nap towel for the final buff. Seems to work pretty good, but I'm sure others have superior techniques--I'd love to hear them.
