  • Russian climate! How to use wax in Russia?

Hi to all the members of this beautiful forum.
Today is my first time I'am writing to you!

And here is my first question:
I'am leaving in Russia and using all the professional products of Meguiar's Mirrow Glaze and Detailer.
Me question is we've got very very derty roads in Moscow, also now is the winter time and our government is using a lot of chemical reagents agains ice.
What type of wax should I use for protecting my clear coat?
I'am also using clay and Last Touch Spray Detailer for prepairing.

    Waiting for your reply!

The wax you use for the normal protecting of the paint is the same wax you'll want to use for the protecting the paint against any chemicals the government is using against the ice, my guess is spraying the roads to de-ice them?

What are you using right now for a wax or paint sealant?

Also, how hard is it for you to get Meguiar's Professional Line in Moscow?

Love having you on the forum!

I have been in Russia on winter and i know what you mean....I am not sure but an often maintenance will help i guess....Paint cleaner+wax every 15 days maybe?? : ) : )
And a good wash under the car on weekly base if it is possible just to avoid the rust because of the chemicals...Hope that helps.

I use a Polymer Sealant #20. I think - best choice for winter time!

I would imagine any of the waxes (#16 or #26) or sealants (#20 or #21) should be fine for you. The one thing you may need to do is reapply the wax or sealant more often than those of us in less harsh conditions. I have to believe those chemicals on the roads are pretty rough on ANY protection, whether it be Meguiars or someone else.

Saying that, whereas as people in more mild climate will reapply about every three months, you may want to cut that time frame in half. Also, don't forget about frequent washing. The more you are getting those chemicals off of your paint, the more you are lessing the damage it is doing to your coat of protection.

Just to add, if you go to our Dealer Locater page here,

                    Dealer Locater Page

Then using the second option shown on the page where it starts out in yellow letters and say,

                    International Dealers

Select Russian Federation from the drop down list and then the radio button for Meguiar's Professional Products to the right of that and then click on the Find Dealers button and you'll get this,

I would like to mention that Technolak has unfairly high prices. And Technolak is just a reseller, it doesn't represent Meguair's.
I wish one day there would be a Meguiar's office here in Moscow...
