Same her in PA. There is no heat at my local coin ops. The water is heated, but the wash stall is wide open (no doors) and when it is real cold the walls all have a heavy build up of ice from all the water spray. When I spray my truck off during the winter, the water will actually freeze to the truck in less than a minute if i do not wait for a day that is above freezing.

That's crazy! I would think that would be dangerous. What if someone slipped on some ice??? Well MrWaxer, if that's the case and you have to choose between brushes or chemicals...I'd go with the chemicals.

Just a light polish like M80 or M66....doesn't usually take much to bring them back to life. You just have to be sure that the trim was meant to look shiny and can actually be polished.

Actually the floors are usually not icy, just the walls. Maybe they have radiant heating in the floor for that very reason? Not sure.

FWIW, I finally decided to get a gallon of ONR and am going to use it through the winter, if I can. I'm hoping to wash my wife's car tomorrow. The temp is supposed to get over 50 but rain is scheduled. We'll see.

The floor doesn't freeze but the walls are covered!! I did go with the chemicals rather than the brushes. This Is the only thing I hate about winter!! I'm a snowmobiler so I love the snow!!

Living in Wisconsin and not having heat or a drain in my garage, I frequently find I need to use a Touchless Laserwash to keep the salt and road grime off my cars in the winter. After the wash I do a QD wipedown and apply a Quik Wax or Booster Wax to replenish the protection. All my friends tell me they don't understand how I can keep my cars so pristine in the sloppy winter months. I tell them it's all due to Meg's.

Almost same here, the only difference is I have to drive out the bay after the initial rinse and drive back after the hand wash, there is a sign in the bay saying: NO BUCKET!

I live in MN with very cold winters too. I have to hand wash at the coin-op car washes as my shop has no drain or running water. I go late at night or early morning when there are no cars waiting. I bring a 5 gal bucket (with lid) filled with warm soapy water. I use only the rinse setting. $2 to do the initial rinse, hand wash, $2 to rinse again. Had dry right in the bay.

Yeah, that's why I go late at night. I talked to the owner and he said it was fine as long as there were no cars waiting. Money is money right?

LOL, me too! I get the very first parking spot at my work so I don't get any door dings....all my co-workers give me a hard time for having such a clean car 24/7. I washed it last night even though I knew it would snow today.

I work at a detail shop here in Fort Wayne and we also have a car wash, Alot different from mikes and better as well in my opinion. Some days I get the chance to work the car wash, I must say its horrible. Next time you go through a car wash just tell them not to brush the back, Swirls like HELL will appear :\

They have signs up that say "Wash at your own risk"

Ive never in my life seen a heated car wash.

When the weather dips below freezing, a small stream of water comes out of the nozzles at all times to keep water from freezing in the hoses and the wand.

i washed my car last Saturday, and the temperature was so low that even before I got a chance to wipe off all the water, it got frozen and left a very thin layer on some part of my car.

Yup, I have the same issue. I go to a drive through touchless place pretty much once a week during the winter since I do about 400 miles round trip north every weekend to snowmobile. Thankfully my buddy RickRack has a place I can toss a wax on my truck if need be.

Nice pic!! The car washes In my area have the same sign's about bucket washing!! I did it that way a couple week's ago and I got a lot of strange looks from people!!
