Hi, I am from so cal
I am here to looking for solutionzz and also want to know about the products!
I have a white car, but it is yellowing..
I do not really know how to care my car..(no one teach me!!)
Therefore, I search online and found this website.
And the best way that I found is to polish my car???
I found this product..


Is it good for my car and will remove some of the yellowness?
and about wax..
Gold class or NXT?

I do need very shiny, but white! I need the best protection agaist yellowness!!

I really want the white paint come back...but do not know what to do!

Skyline, you have come to the right place! There's a lot of detailing knowledge and wisdom here in the Meguiar's community. Like you, I am a relative newcomer, but I'm quickly learning, thanks to the help offered by so many people on this forum.

ColorX is a good product, and if your car hasn't been polished in a long time, this may be a good cleaner/polish/wax for you to begin with. But the experts will chime in shortly and provide you some sound guidance. I'm sure they are going to want you to tell them a bit more about your car, and it would be helpful if you could provide some photographs.

A simple detail starting off would be:

1. Wash - Gold Class or Nxt Soap, 2 buckets, quality towels/sponges.
2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
3. ColorX
4. Wax - Nxt 2.0

If the yellowing is staining from neglect and/or exposure to the elements as a daily driver then ColorX will work as the staining will be, or at lest should be topical, that is on the surface. ColorX is a cleaner/wax and if you work the product thoroughly over a small section, about 16" square or so, the chemical cleaners and diminishing abrasives will clean or remove the stained or yellowish appearance.

Do a test spot first. Buy and apply to small section on the hood or trunk lid and then inspect.

Keep in mind when working on paint defects with a cleaner/wax the idea is to work the product over and into the paint with a little passion as part of the cleaning action comes from you and the way your work the product.

If you're after cleaning action then you don't just want to spread the wax out and let it dry, you want to work it against the paint and work small sections at a time, don't try to clean half the hood at one time.

Another option would be to use a dedicated paint cleaner like Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner and then follow this with finishing wax instead of the cleaner/wax although at this point you could also use a cleaner/wax.

It really teaches me the steps!!
I only know wash + clay + wax in the past!

I have a 2005 little corolla white
and I have been driving it for 1 year..

Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner or ColorX works better?or both?
(my car is really yellow..)

So..I do not need to apply wax after using ColorX?
What about ScratchX..?(ScratchX® removes light surface contaminants, oxidation, and blemishes while it enhances paint color and clarity)

Here is my plan after reading many articles!
1. Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner/ NXT Generation® Car Wash(i know either one is good)
2. clay (remove dust..)
3. Deep Crystal® System Paint Cleaner/ScratchX(not really know the difference)
4.COLORx®
5. NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0(people say this one last longer)
But if I using COLORx Do I really need to wax my car?

I know I have to wax it for around every 2months,and polish every 6months..
Is it correct?(I have never do any polish..)
What about after washing(twice a month)..?Do I need to apply anything on my car...like NXT Generation Speed Detailer?<-what is it for?

ColorX is a cleaner/wax..so do not need to wax after using ColorX..
After using Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner needs wax..
And ScratchX is for scratch..so it doesnt remove yellowish..
Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner is a dedicated paint cleaner...
So I think Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner works the best..?
because it is dedicated...Just like GPU..dedicated is better..
Am I right?

I have a Random Orbital mechine from pepboy..
It contains 3 different bonnets
one is like this..

one is cotton
and one is very soft..
I do not know which one for which step..

Yes color-x is a wax. That said after using color-x I would still apply a coat of nxt 2.0 on your car.

Your orbital will be good enough to apply the waxws. It will not have enough power to remove any scratches and swirls.

Yes you would want to use a different clean bonnet for each product.

Skyline, ColorX is an all-in-one products. Like Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, it cleans the paint of below-surface contaminants. Like ScratchX, it gently abrades the paint and removes light swirls and stains. And then like any wax, it leaves behind a protective covering. It's a great product. If I were you (and this is just my private opinion) I would pick up a bottle of ColorX and try it, following the instructions Mike Phillip's stated above. See if this accomplishes what you want. If it doesn't, then you can come back here for suggestions about other products.

But if it does work, you may want to consider applying a coat of NXT on top of the ColorX, in order to achieve superior coverage and protection. That seems to be the unofficial consensual forum recommendation.

Here is a detailing method, based on what I have learned here from Mike, Mat, Mark, and others, I recommended to my son a couple of months back. You may find it helpful:

1) Wash the car using the two bucket method:

Dry with your waffle-weave towel. Some of us also like to first blot the water with an artificial chamois called the Absorber.

2) Clay the car, following the directions:

3) Apply a coat of ColorX. Massage and work it into the paint. You are working it into and against the paint because you are hoping to clean the paint and remove light swirls and oxidization. Allow to haze and wipe off.

Wait 15 minutes.

4) Apply a thin coat of NXT. Allow to haze and wipe off. If you wish, you may apply a second thin coat, preferably waiting 12 hours between the coats.

Of course, after the initial claying, one does not need to clay every time one washes and waxes. I would guess that most folks here clay their cars twice a year or so.

I encouraged my son to wash his car once a week or once every two weeks (as needed) and to wax his car once every two to three months, using the ColorX/NXT combination. If he wanted to wax his car more frequently, say once a month, then I suggested that he use NXT monthly and use the ColorX/NXT combo every three months. At the moment, though, he is using ColorX exclusively, though I did pass on to him my bottle of Gold Class wax when he visited me over Thanksgiving.
