My question is since the 80 speed glaze uses diminishing abrasives that sand and then polish out, what happens if the product is not fully worked in? What I mean is if it were applied, given a pass or two them removed by towel, would it leave worse scratches in the finish because it never got the chance to polish out? How long does it usually take to sand, polish and glaze?

You must work any product with a diminishing abrasive until the diminishing abrasive has completely broken down and turned into nothingness otherwise you can potentially leave swirls or scratches.
