I was in Hawaii for the past week. There is a VIP car Rental business where you can rent Ferrari's, Corvette's, Viper's, etc. After each rental they "detail" the cars. I drove buy and I saw a local washing a bright red Ferrari Spider using a massive brush. The single bucket method he was using was also a killer for me. The bucket he was using was resting on the hood of the Dodge Viper next to him. Man I could make some money over there, I saw swirls everywhere lol. (I am not trying to bash/flame the guy) I just see these stories, and wanted to share...

Because all things are possible in this world with a positive attitude it's possible you could educate the owners as to how quality work is done and it's possible you could convince them to pay for it but I doubt it.

I don't know about that Mike. All my clients have been iffy about my pricing until I showed them what I could do. There is quite a high chance if you can get them to look at the finished test spotHello, I am Isaac

Re: Detailer's Story to share
I saw a "detailer" in the Florida Keys last summer who was washing and waxing a black Escalade in the mid-day sun! I knew he was a "pro" because there was a sign by where he was working.2011 Ford Mustang GT Cali Special

Er, you guys know that there are current products on the market that you can apply in the sun thats not Megs right? Prima Banana Gloss is something I use when I get the urge to just wax after a wash to maintain the protection...

Do you mean a cool surface and yes by the way the sun is out.
Or do you mean black paint on the hood of a car in August in Arizona where the surface temperature is over 160 degrees?
People always make statements about using this or that in the sun but there never specific.
Meguiar's has products you can use in the sun but not on a HOT surface in the sun.
And here's some common sense...
Even if you have a product that can be used on a HOT surface in HOT sun,
wouldn't the product still work better on a cool surface in the shade?

You surely didn't expect him to set it on the hood of the Ferrari, did you?
The Ferrari hood has way too much slant to it to allow that to work.
The hood sccop on the Viper should have created a reasonably level surface for the bucket to sit on. Sometimes we just have to make do with what's available.
