Re: THXGiving Detail in progress, I have Q's and need advice

finished the m80 with DA, car looks great, very smooth, but some swirls that i thought would go are stiill there

i attacked the wheels with force today, each one took over an hour, the mothers mag/alloy polish is great, the lips of the wheels look great, but the black residue it makes is hard to get off, and it was hard to deal with the 37 bolts getting into them
i topped it off with a spray of quick wax

next to do, is the nxt with 9006,
on the grey rockerpannels and bumper i think ill just do quickwax, and then go over all the chromo trim around the windows with the mothers metal product

finished the car today, pheewwww finally,
should i put some quickdetailer on it as a last coat, over the nxt?

in comparison of my nxt 2 vs nxt 1, i didnt find any difference there either, but it worked very nice, easy to remove

i just need to clean al my MF clothes now, alot have alot of black road grime. but i dont want to just toss them out.
      ill clean my pads later

For the swirls--did you follow up the M-80 with a polish? That may help.
Also- Try using wax on the wheels to help protect them-and for the extra shine!

I have done several classic SL's such as yours-yes they are a pain in the rear, but the classic lines make it worth the while.

i used m80 as my polish step
geez there seems like there is too many products.
the m80 i got is gonna last a lifetime, cuz i only get a chance to detail maybe 3 times a year, and especially in florida where the weather *****,

#80 has polishing oils in it. If #80 did not completely remove all the swirls then you have to move up in your aggressiveness, Try #83. Of course you would have to rewax after applying the #83.
            quality creates its own demand

For swirls and scratches that are not coming out with M80 by machine, try M105 by hand. See the threads listed in the link below to understand why...
