  • Cleaner wax = DC#1 + DC#3?

    Hi guys,

I was wondering whether the DC cleaner wax has the same cut rating as DC#1 Paint Cleaner?

I'm hoping to use the cleaner wax on a monthly basis, so it would be handy if it were a very light cleaner like DC#1.

    Thanks,

    Nick.

I'm assuming that the Deep Crystal Cleaner Wax is an AUS product? Usually individual products do a better job than an AIO (all in one) type product. If I had to guess though, being the Deep Crystal System, that you are almost going to get about the same results as the DC Cleaner is very mild. If you have both, you can do side by side test spots and see. As for the wax part, I'd tend to think the wax all by itself would do a better job than a cleaner wax. Again, individual products do a better job than an all in one. If you are waxing monthly though, I'd say you will be A-OK though.

Now to your second part. A cleaner wax does have cleaners in it so the answer to this part would be that it is.

Thanks. Actually I should not have referred to it as "Deep Crystal" Cleaner Wax...its in the same type of red bottle though.

I find this product great on troublesome paint that is prone to smearing.

I love the DC1 paint cleaner. Altho I also love the Cleanerwax. But I get more cleaning power and light swirls removing with the DC1 paint cleaner. It will leave my paint work looking so clear and shinny. I do skip the DC2 step coz my car's paint can't have the wet gloss. So I opt for a bright shine with DC1. Then I usually top it with a layer of sealant. Not Meguiars tho

If you haven't read it yet, you may find Mosca's article on Cleaner Wax of interest:

I think Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner is a tick stronger than A12 Cleaner/Wax.

Regardless, A12 Cleaner/Wax is excellent for a maintenance wax where you want some cleaning action to remove any unwanted films and restore clarity. Cleaning the surface also always helps the protection ingredients to bond better.

Avoid plastic and rubber trim however as it does turn white.

            M20 is also a great light cleaner/wax.

Thats exactly what I use it for. Thatnks for the replies.

I should say, the smearing I need to remove has nothing to do with Meguiars products.
