  • Using M09 as a paint cleaner

At this point my question is more theoretical than real, as I do not expect to do any paint cleaning until the spring, but who knows--perhaps we'll get a warm spell in January.

But what I am thinking of us using #9 as a paint cleaner to take off any remaining wax and perhaps remove some light swirls. I do not intend to attempt any serious paint correction until the spring. But weather permitting I would like to do some light polishing, followed by two layers of new wax.

So how should I work M09 of this purpose. Would the yellow polisher pad be the pad of choice? Do I work the product until is is completely broken down, or is that necessary? TIA.

    Cheers,
    Al

    Sounds like a plan.

      But what is the plan?

I have no experience with #9. Does one work it down just like one works down #80? Will one create micro-marring if one stops too early? TIA.

Use M09 the same way you'd use M80 - W8006/W8207 Polishing Pad at speed 5 on the G110/DA with moderate pressure, working small areas with overlapping passes until you see the product break down to a translucent (but still wet) film, then wipe off with a clean microfiber towel.

M09 worked great on the Black S2000 I did. If you paint is in good condition I think it's an excellent choice.

M09 is a very versatile product, you can apply it by machine for light swirl removal, you can apply it firmly by hand for light paint cleaning or you can apply it lightly by hand and it will work pretty much like a pure polish.

            Get some, play with it.
