some hoodlums at my apartment complex were going around spraying cars with beer about 2 nights ago

i have black paint with a clear coat, and i just washed it last week and applied UQD. my car is really dusty right now and i dont want to risk the chance of marring the finish by using UQD. i wont be able to wash my car for another 2 weeks im curious to know if the dried up beer will damage my finish? it looks all sticky.

for what its worth, the kind of beer was either coors or miller (i saw some of those cans laying around everywhere)

Personally, I would get it off as soon as possible. I know stuff like coke and pepsi will eat right through paint. I would definately get it off like now. At the very least take it to a DIY car wash and spray it down.

I have actually seen what spilled beer than is left on a car too long can do to the paint from my days at Lexus. You will really want to wash it as soon as possible, and if needed, clay. Trust me on this one, it isn't pretty.

If you can't wash the whole car, at least try and wash the effected areas off.

I'm not quite sure on beer but 2 years ago, I had an exhibition to run and left my car parking outside under the sun (8am - 10pm @ 2days). When I was back to my car around 10plus or so, I had 2 coke cans ON MY CAR .
To make matters worse, it spilled all over the rear bonnet and front hood (coke can still standing). Guess some bandits used my car as a table. I only inspect the paint after completing the 2 days exhibition (too tired and ignorant) and what I found was . There a round shaped etch (coke can) and some stains on the front hood and rear bonnet.

So, lesson learned. Always remove contaminants as soon as possible be it via washing the car or with QDs.

I'd treat those beer stains as I would tree sap, bird bombs and greasy fingerprints.
Off they go as soon as possible, even if it means expending a whole bottle of QD (if a quick wash is not possible).

Even a blast of water from a coin-op place would be a start.

I'm assuming this was like Bud Light / Miller light or something nasty. No sane person would waste good beer by spraying it on cars.

Although there are far less chemicals in beer than Coke / Pepsi, I'd suggest spraying it down with a high power washer (coin op suggestion was good).

I hope there was no damage to the paint!!

just got back from the local coin op car wash. i sprayed it down with regular water, then sprayed on some of that pre-soak soap, rinsed it off and then sprayed it with their spot free rinse. didnt touch the finish with anything to avoid marring. then drove it on the freeway for a while to get it dry. when i came back i checked it out and no damage was incurred the spot free rinse seemed to dry well too

the pre-soak stuff seemed to clean the car well, although i suspect it may have stripped off the wax

You are probably right. The coin op soap probably stripped your wax. However no damage was done from the beer. That is a very good thing. You can always rewax your car. Glad no damage was done.

Yet again another success story and we have the forum to thank. Had you not been a member and posted your situation to get our feedback you might have waited 2 weeks to take care of the car and I would say without a doubt that would've had some type of consequence. Glad to hear everything worked out and way to go MOL members for all the quick responses! This is exaclty why we all love this place!!

Hey man I feel your pain, I was working a short shift today from 9-3 and when i came out someone had spilled an entire can of Coke on the side of my car starting at the roof and running down the side onto the wheel and tire. They were stupid enough to leave the can there. Came home quickly, only live 5 miles from work, washed it, then went back to check the cameras.
