  • QD After a Drive

    Hey people,

I try and wipe my car down after every drive. Some drives are a little longer than others, so the bugs have time to stick to the front bumper. How do you go about wiping the front of your car? Do you use the QD and apply a little more pressure, or do you use bug remover when wiping down the bumper?

    Thanks

Rubbing hard can put scratches in your paint. Mist & Wipe products like our Quik Detailer, Ultimate Quik Detailer, Speed Detailer, Final Inspection and Last Touch are for removing light dust, fingerprints and smudges and some of these mist and wipe products can be used as a clay lube.

If you have stuck on bugs then you want to loosen the bug residue by softening it first so that you don't have to rub hard. See ideas in this thread and pictures on page 2 of this thread...

I tried the fabric softners and they work well. They really disolve the bugs and make the process easy. Does QD remove any wax? I'm thinking if you use QD like your supposed to, it won't remove any wax. Does this also apply to bug and tar remover?

      Thanks

How do you get the initial dirt off the body before wiping, after going on a cruise with my Malibu there is some buildup of road dust and dirt on the tail, i'm afraid to just spray and wipe seems like you would put more scratches on the car,

Then it's time to wash rather than QD.

I rarely QD my trucks. When I QD my Harleys, I put on "ton" of the stuff before wiping. I believe anytime you touch a cloth , sponge, whatever to your vehicle's paint you can easily instill micro-maring and fine scratches.

If it is that dirty, it is time to wash. You would probably be saving yourself time and aggravation in the long run.
