  • A day off of work

Means I can now wash/wax my own car!

Well today was my day off so I decided to give my car a quick wash and wax. Living in an apartment complex doesn't permit me to wash my car here, so I ran it through the touchless car wash across the street and finished it off with UQD for that 'film' those things never tend to get off.

After doing this, I stared long and hard at my wax collection thinking what to use. I first grabbed NXT 2.0 and went about doing the hood when a though struck my head; I use to LOVE using Quik Wax to maintain my old car and it worked great, and I happen to have a bottle of NXT spray wax handy which I enjoyed even more! I then put NXT 2.0 aside and proceeded to do the rest of the car with the spray wax. I now remember why when I had my other car why I loved this stuff so much! It goes on SUPER easy when using a folded towel, dries very quickly, and removes just as easily! I actually only had to wait about 5 minutes for it to dry, while I waited about 15 for the hood to dry, and I will be so bold to say that I couldn't tell the difference between the two in terms of looks. Don't get me wrong, if I wanted 'the best' I would opt out of 2.0, but as it stands this is a 15 year old daily beater and I don't have the luxury of a rotary/DA right now.

Now I know NXT 2.0 provides better protection and lasts longer, but when I can wax my car with NXT spray in less than 1/4 of the time, well I have no problem using it more often and simply 'topping it off' with UQD to gain the hydrophobic effect NXT 2.0 has. Needless to say, the whole reason for me posting this is to simply express my excitement on seeing 21-21a! After seeing the reviews so far, Meguiar's, I can tell you I will be one of the first to order this product! Until then for those of you looking for an easy and quick way to keep those daily drivers protected (and make them easier to maintain), Meguiar's spray waxes once again gain my approval!

When using a spray-on wax, technique is everything.

Both our spray waxes in the Consumer Line work very well when used on the right condition finish with the right technique.

Years ago a lady posted to Autopia how disappointed when was after using Meguiar's Quik Wax, (the thread is still there), after asking her a few questions we found out her car's finish was neglected, it needed to be washed, clayed and then have the paint cleaned which none of these things were done, she simply sprayed the Quik Wax on neglected paint and thought it should have performed a miracle. Wrong product for her and her car's finish.

I was given a sample of this new product and my Jimmy has a finish in nice condition and so far I'm very impressed with it.

Oh I hear you on that! I always tell everyone to get the car to look how you wish it to look without waxing it; once it looks and feels good enough, then wax it to protect all your hard work and make it easier to maintain.
