  • So many MF Towels.

I don't know about you, but I have a TON of microfiber towels!

How do you guys keep them organized from them being used and not used from which towels have what product on them?

I have them color coded. I just got some new MF towls so I know by color, Like yellow is for cleaners and polishes for me and blue is for waxes.

I wash them.... doesnt seem to matter then.

Though it is pretty obvious which ones are the Meguiars ones for paint, and the cheaper Target ones for interior, glass, etc.

Just the liquid soap.. think I have Tide at the moment. And a little white vinegar once in a while.

I guess I have enough towels now, and just doing my own car, that I dont really have to "load" the towel up, I can just grab a clean one whenever. Probably helps them wash easier as well.

Not sure what I mean exactly...

But sometimes you can see when you have been using a section of a towel a lot, and has a lot more product residue clinging to it. If a person didnt have many towels, the towel may have that kind of look all over. The more residue on the towel, it might be harder to wash off.

                      Re: So many MF Towels.

After I wash them, I put them in the dryer on medium heat. Never put a fabric softener in with them Just let them dry on there own.

I tend to just use the Supreme Shines on the paint. All others are for the dirty work. Jams wheels etc. Thats how I keep them separate.

I use Ziploc bags for each of my microfiber towels, one bag per type of microfibers.

                          Re: So many MF Towels.

I wash all my MF towels in the washer.
I apply wax with a applicator and wash them by hand it takes a lot of dawn ,messaged into them to get the wax out.
If towels are extra dirty like from removing wax I soak them in a rather strong APC mix with water and then wash them twice and rinse them twice.

On the second rinse I add white vinegar and dry on LOW heat until just a little damp and then finish drying with air dry.
This will leave then really nice and soft and help get rid of static in the towel.

When I take them out of the dryer I give them a quick snap not only will that take the wrinkles out of them but it help with the static charge.

I always do a double rinse to remove all soap residue.

                            Re: So many MF Towels.

I wash my MF's and use the 2nd rinse option to make sure I get all the soap out. I inspect each one for contaminants before hanging it on a plastic coat hanger to dry and then hang the coat hangers on door frames.

I then do the same as Carfire and put them in Ziplock bags, separating them by type and brand.

I stopped drying them in the dryer after reading about possible damage to the microfiber if they are dryed at too high a temp.

I also cut the corners off each MF because the stiffness or hard edge on some of them feel like they could cause swirls

I soak mine in a high detergent/water concentration for 48-72 hours and use a manually extended wash cycle, then reset the machine back to wash without adding detergent, equaling a total of three rinses.
