  • Polishing close to the trim

Hello, how in the world do you polish that 1/8 to 1/4 inch area next to trim and where panels meet etc?

There are two things I recommed. 1-Put the product on a rag and rub it in by hand. 2- Tape off the trim and polish it with a buffer or PC.

You can buy Painter's masking tape. Comes off very easily and doesn't leave the sticky residue that regular masking tape might leave. Believe its made by 3-M and its usually blue in color.

          Hey,

I tend to use the above blue 3M Safe Release Masking Tape. That way I can get as close to the trim as possible, thereby avoiding the clean-up afterwards.

I use just a rag on the smaller part's of the car. The PC does the rest of it. The thing is if you get some of the product on the rubber trim make sure you get it of quick because it will discolor it. Same with applying wax.

Tape it off and make sure both hands firmly have the buffer held, then you can get it so the pad is just barely hitting the tape with no ill effects. If your using a rotary hold it very tight just in case it wants to jump on you..

Also for working on small areas I found some 3" pads for rotary use.
