  • #9 on a monthly basis - Safe?

Just wondering, is it safe to use it on a monthly basis if for some reason, new swirls come along? Or am I better off with a W9 if it is to be used often? Or with another polish? I know #9 is somewhat lightly/midly aggressive.

    thanks

It's best to do all your scratch swirl removal in the beginning, then use the proper scratch/swirl avoidance methods...proper washing & drying techniques etc.

If you have a street driven car, minor marring is impossible to avoid. The #9 is mild, but when it takes off the minor swirling, it will take off your wax too.

I would suggest that between major details, that you use one of Meg's pure polishes (#3, #5, #7, #81 or DC Step #2 Polish) followed by a coat of NXT to hide or mask minor imperfections (like a woman uses make up to hide blemishes).

A friend of mine has a 2000 Mits Eclipse dark metallic red. The car looks perfect. He always manages to keep 2 car covers on, and as far as waxing - he doesn't polish, he just waxes, using Meguiar's Gold Class wax. It seriously looks wet, so clear and shiny. A little secret - he waxes every time he washes it, and he washes it once a week, using a spray bottle of water and terry cloth towel. No water spots. After that he waxes it. If it rains outside and he drives - he will wash and wax every day . Once I saw him on a parking lot before leaving work waxing his car. I asked, what are you doing?... He said, he is not leaving until he gets it waxed. Couldn't wait to make it home. By the way - he waxes it by hand.

          Hi LiveWire,

#9 is completely safe to use on a monthly basis.

If it looks good in your eyes, you have found something that works for you and your car's paint type, if you use it often, the your car's finish will always look good because just the act of applying a smooth, creamy liquid over the finish with an applicator pad has a polishing-effect.
