    Wow!!!!

    You guys are animals. I thought I was obsessive. I just finished detailing my car. I started at 07:00 this morning and just finished at 3:00.

    1. Washed
    2. Clayed (Scary but fun)
    3. DC1
    4. DC2
    5. Wax (Only one coat)

    I'm worn out...completely drained. How do you guys do this all the time? If I had to do this every three months or so, that would be cool. I wouldn't be able to do this every month.

    I know you all recommend 2 coats of wax. Is one going to be ok?

    Sure it can be tiring and time consuming but I bet your car looks great!

    One coat of wax will be just fine... you can always add another next weekend or when you have a chance. Are you working by hand or PC?

      Way to go, Mark!

      I know precisely the sense of exhaustion, and exhilaration, you now feel. I too don't know how these guys do it, day in and day out. And they do it in a quarter of the time you and I can do it. Maybe we will get faster as we learn the craft.

        I did it by hand. Maybe I will do this by machine someday.

        PC is a machine, right?

        I'm a newbie and still learning the lingo.

          Yes its a exhausting but great feeling. Your times will get better as you go on. Congrats.

            I'd recommend doing the whole process like you did where each step is separated 1-2 times a year, then the rest of the time you can clay if needed, then use cleaner wax and DC3 wax (or any other wax for that matter), the cleaner wax will cover steps 1-2 in one easy step

              PC is Porter Cable, yes its a machine polisher and the newer version is the G110 (G220 for us in europe), its a faster way of working it does all the hard work, its very safe for new users in comparison to rotary as used by the pro's
