    Hi MRCLEAN,

For removing tar, their are a variety of Meguiar's products you can use.

First off, if you already own a Meguiar's paint cleaner, such as Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner, or Clear Coat Body Scrub, Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner or ScratchX, you can try any of these with a piece of terry cloth towel for some extra bite. Use an ample amount to help liquefy the tar.

Meguiar's also offers a bug and tar remover that you can try,

Gold Class Bug & Tar Remover

A heavy-duty remedy, would be to use Meguiar's Body Solvent from our Professional Detailer line,

    Body Solvent

Meguiar's Body Solvent changes the traditional method of removing tar, road grime, gum and other petroleum based substances. Instead of applying and scrubbing, its VOC compliant formula can now be sprayed on the surface, allowed to soak, penetrate and break down the contaminant, then wiped clean with ease.

The smallest container this comes in is a 1-gallon jug.

Here's a how to article to help you find the Body Solvent should you decide to try it,

How to locate Meguiar’s Professional & Detailer products in your hometown

As for how long to let NXT Tech Wax dry, for the average climate, 10-15 minutes should suffice. You can also use the swipe test as an indicator as to when the wax is ready to remove.

    Hope this helps...
